Paediatric Occupational Therapy Assessment Service
Servicing Albury and surrounding regions
About Us
Sensational Me OT is a Paediatric Occupational Therapy service. Independently owned and operated, this service provides Occupational Therapy Assessments in Albury and surrounding areas.
Our goal is for your child to have the support they need to live meaningful, satisfying lives. We use a neurodiversity affirming approach – embracing each child for the unique individual they are.
By helping parents and caregivers to understand how their child processes information, they can be empowered to make modifications within daily life to allow their children to thrive in their own unique way. A key factor influencing the way we perceive and interact with the world around us is the way in which we receive and process sensory information, so this is the primary focus of most of our services.
Services
-
This assessment is an ideal starting point if you are unsure if your child has sensory processing differences. It may be helpful as a consideration when investigating possible diagnoses as part of a multidisciplinary approach. The assessment is based on information provided by the primary caregiver - acknowledging you as the expert on your child. It reviews how your child respond to sensory experiences in everyday life to determine their sensory processing profile.
-
The accuracy of findings within a Standard Sensory Assessment Service are enhanced with the inclusion of the observational assessment component of the service. In addition to information gained from the primary caregiver, the Occupational Therapist is able to gain key behavioural and environmental insights through in-person observation of your child to consider when interpreting data.
-
The Comprehensive Sensory Assessment Service provides the most accurate interpretation of your child’s sensory profile. With the inclusion of the additional standardised assessment (School Companion Sensory Profile 2 – Teacher Questionnaire), in conjunction with an observational assessment and feedback from the primary caregiver, the OT is able to gain a comprehensive and holistic understanding of your child’s behaviours when interpreting their sensory profile.
-
The purpose of the assessment is to identify the extent to which your child’s current level of capacity is impacting their function in order to determine their support needs. The assessment clearly addresses NDIS reasonable and necessary criteria when recommending funded supports.
